SF Tech Week runs from October 5 to 11, 2026. It is a week of separately hosted events across San Francisco, presented by a16z and collected on one official calendar. Nobody attends a tenth of it. The week rewards the person who picks.
Choose by what you are building
Take one room a day. Make it the room that teaches you something about the thing you are building, or the room where the people who would buy it are standing. A panel you could have read as a blog post is an evening you do not get back.
We keep the full selection, with times and places, on our calendar. These are the ones we would start with.
If you build with models
- Model Training Night, Monday from 5 PM at House of AI. Bring a laptop and your own data.
- init() by WorkOS, Wednesday, all day at SFJAZZ.
- Open Source AI Stack: Models, Inference, and Agent Harness, Wednesday evening in the Financial District.
- The State of AI Report 2026 launch, Thursday evening on the Central Waterfront.
- Hard Negatives Meetup, Friday at Manny's: an engineers' debate night hosted by Qdrant and Neo4j.
If what you build ships in a box
- Compute Trading Happy Hour, Tuesday from 5 PM, hosted by Silicon Data.
- Build Better Electronics Manufacturing Summit, Wednesday, aboard the USS Hornet Museum in Alameda.
- NeoCloud Summit 2026, Thursday at Hotel Kabuki in Japantown.
- Hardware FYI, Friday evening at Dogpatch Studios. It is on a waitlist already.
The week after, the OCP Global Summit opens in San Jose on October 12. If racks, power and networking are your trade, that is the bigger room. It is also the trade our hardware desk works in every day.
If you build robots
- Sergey Levine at South Park Commons, Tuesday at 10:30 AM, on physical intelligence.
- Physical AI Operators: The Data Layer of Physical AI, Tuesday evening in SoMa.
- Learning From Human Video and Scaling VLA Training, Wednesday evening.
Security and health
- National Security + Space Innovation Summit, Thursday, aboard the Klamath during Fleet Week.
- Cyberdefense Hackathon, Friday, all day in the Financial District.
- Molecules, Models and Agents, Monday afternoon: models and agents in scientific research, hosted by GitHub.
- The New Infrastructure of Biotech Entrepreneurship, Wednesday at MBC BioLabs.
If you are raising
- Built in SF, Monday at 4:30 PM in the Financial District.
- Carta's State of the Round, Tuesday afternoon at Chase Center. Waitlist only now.
- AI Demo Night, Wednesday, from Startup Grind, The AI Collective and Alumni Ventures.
Three practical things
- Register today. Most events are free, most need the host's approval, and the popular ones are already on waitlists.
- Plan by neighborhood. Many addresses appear only after you are approved, and crossing the city at six in the evening costs you the first hour.
- Leave gaps. One long conversation with the right person is worth more than five rooms you walked through.
If you are building something and want a second pair of eyes on it that week, send us what you have shipped. We would rather read working code than a deck.
